What an amazing trip we had this last weekend in Big Sur! Beautiful weather, great company, and fun times!
After packing up at our warehouse in Santa Cruz, we headed south down Highway 1. Todd took us on an amazing dirt road that wound through redwoods and down the Big Sur coastline before our steep ascent up Nacimiento-Fergusson road.
When we arrived at camp, we took in the beautiful view of coastal fog layers rolling into land far below us. Delicious food and tasty brews were followed by a sunset view and campfire stories.
The next day after breakfast some of us went on an epic bike ride that swept along the top of a ridge line with coast on one side and mountain views on the other. It was cut short by a chain failure unfortunately, but that provided us with some laughs and bicycle repair ingenuity.
After arriving back at camp we had a 100 nuts tourney (http://100nuts.com/), which by the way.....is sooooo much more than just a game.
Then it was horseshoes, where local legend Dani Julien was a shining star. Evan must have been experiencing "shoulder pain" after sinking so many peanuts into the vase....which is why his horseshoe game was sub-par. Who could have guessed 100nuts would be so taxing on the body.
Saturday night we enjoyed some steak, potatoes, salad, and made cake inside of hollowed out oranges in the campfire....tasty! Jason provided some mellow guitar picking as we rested up for the return journey the next morning. On the way home we stopped at the Riverside Lodge where we had a tasty beer and soaked our feet in the river....not a bad way to end such an epic adventure.
Thanks to everyone who came on this trip, you were all so fun to hang out with and we here at Tepui can't wait for the next one!!!
Thank you John for the photos you provided us!!
